Patient Consent, Ethics & Data Privacy

At Reveal Medical Center, we view the protection of your health data and your right to informed clinical choices as a fundamental human right. Our ethical framework is built upon the UAE Federal Decree-Law No. 4 of 2016 on Medical Liability and the DHA Charter of Patient Rights and Responsibilities.

1. Our Privacy Commitment: The Health Data Law

We adhere strictly to UAE Federal Law No. 2 of 2019 (ICT in Healthcare), which regulates the use of information technology and communication in the health sector.

  • Local Data Residency: In compliance with UAE law, all patient health records are stored on secure, encrypted servers located within the United Arab Emirates. We do not transfer sensitive health data outside the country without explicit regulatory approval.
  • 25-Year Retention: As per MOHAP and DHA regulations, medical records are maintained for a minimum of 25 years from the date of the last treatment to ensure continuity of care and legal protection.
  • Confidentiality: Access to your medical records is restricted to your attending specialists, such as Dr. Alaa Abou Laban or Dr. Golnaz Karima, and authorized clinical staff.

2. The Ethics of Informed Consent

We believe a patient who understands their treatment is a patient who achieves better outcomes. Before any procedure at Reveal Medical Center, you will undergo a formal Informed Consent process:

  • Detailed Explanation: You will be briefed on the nature of the procedure, the expected benefits, and any potential Clinical Risks or Side Effects.
  • Alternative Options: Our specialists will present alternative treatment pathways, ensuring you are not pressured into a specific choice.
  • The Right to Withdraw: You maintain the right to withdraw consent at any stage before the procedure begins.

3. Visual Documentation & Media Consent

At Reveal Medical Center, we use clinical photography to enhance your care and document your aesthetic journey. We maintain a strict separation between Clinical Documentation and Marketing Media.

A. Clinical Records (Treatment Progress)

  • Purpose: Photos taken for your medical file are used by your specialist (e.g., Dr. Alaa Abou Laban or Dr. Golnaz Karima) to track healing, analyze symmetry, and plan complex procedures.
  • Mandatory Retention: These images are part of your official medical record and are protected under the UAE Health Data Law (No. 2 of 2019).

B. Photography & Advertising Consent (Social Media)

  • Strictly Voluntary: Your consent to use your images for marketing (such as our Before & After Gallery or Instagram) is 100% optional. Refusing this consent will never affect the quality of your care or your treatment price.
  • Right to Anonymity: Patients may choose to grant consent for “anonymized” photos only (where the eyes are cropped or identity is obscured) or “full-face” media.
  • Withdrawal of Consent: In accordance with the Personal Data Protection Law (Federal Decree-Law No. 45 of 2021), you may withdraw your advertising consent at any time. Upon withdrawal, we will remove the content from our digital platforms within 72 business hours.

4. Digital Consent Library (Downloads)
